This resource guide represents the state of Tennessee's response to the problem of suicide. It is a joint production of the Tennessee Department of Health (TDH), the Tennessee Suicide Prevention Network (TSPN), and Kid Central, our state's clearinghouse on youth health and development resources. It provides basic information on what to look for, when to act, and who to contact for the various situations that may factor into a suicide crisis. It also offers guidance on population groups who are at high risk for suicide, the programs and coalitions working to prevent suicide in our state, and the laws and policies governing Tennessee's suicide prevention efforts.
Educational materials
TSPN offers a variety of resources, all available to print or download for free. Our materials can also be delivered across the state at no cost. Feel free to explore our offerings.

988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline
The Lifeline is a free 24/7, confidential, short-term crisis counseling line for those experiencing distress. It is a myth that 988 is only for suicidal individuals; it is available to everyone. Call, text, or chat 988 if you are overwhelmed, stressed, and need to talk with a trained counselor.
This project is funded under a grant contract with the State of Tennessee, Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.
